Transportation Planner 2
Description:
The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has an Electric Bus Project Lead (Transportation Planner 2) position in the Office of Transit and Ridesharing.
The Office of Transit and Ridesharing directly operates a statewide multimodal transit network, including 8 divisions of the CTtransit state-owned bus system and CTfastrak–an ITDP Silver Standard BRT system. In addition, the Office of Transit and Ridesharing manages contracts for service provision with large transit service providers and with several Connecticut Transit Districts. In total, providing over 42 million passenger trips per year.
THE ROLE
The new team member will join the Fleet and Customer Amenities Unit and participate in the planning and project management of several ongoing projects in the fleet program. These projects include Statewide Battery Electric Bus (BEB) deployment, management of new BEB telematics systems, BEB charge management systems, fleet maintenance, and fleet inspections. The new team member will also support other programs in the Office of Transit and Ridesharing.
Additional Duties include:
- Work with CT Transit team on Electric Bus route planning, maintenance, and operational assignments
- Calculate BEB range based on historical data and strategize routes for BEB deployment via software programs
- Train on EV charging equipment and analyze charger performance via reporting portals
- Write technical detailed reports and analyses as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of professional experience in transportation civil engineering or transportation, urban, regional or environmental planning.

One (1) year of the General Experience must include individual responsibility for the coordination of complex planning projects in a relevant planning area.NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Transportation Planner 1 or Transportation Engineer 2.

Outreach Assistant (Educational Program Assistant 2) - Vegetable and Hemp Extension Program
Description:
The Department of Extension, a part of the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources, at the University of Connecticut, seeks applicants for a full-time Extension Outreach Assistant (Educational Program Assistant 2) to provide administrative and programmatic support to the Vegetable and Hemp Extension Program. This position will perform farm scouting and consultations with growers, and report farm observations and data to Extension faculty in vegetable production to create extension publications. The incumbent will serve a wide variety of farmers statewide. The incumbent will be trained in scouting techniques, pheromone trap procedures, and soil sample collection, and then will work independently with support from the faculty as necessary. The incumbent will also receive EPA Worker Protection Standard training. Reporting to an Assistant Extension Educator in Vegetable Production, this position will work from Tolland County Extension Center to help extend the reach of the Vegetable and Hemp Extension Program to commercial vegetable and hemp growers in Connecticut.

Olympia Fields Country Club is a private club founded in 1915, located on the southside of Chicago and is comprised of two championship golf courses. The North Course, designed by Willie Park Jr., has hosted two PGA Championships, a number of Western Opens Championships, the 1997 US Senior Open and two US Open Championships, the 2015 U.S. Amateur, the 2017 WPGA Championship as well as both the 2020 and the 2023 BMW Championship. The South Course, originally designed by Tom Bendelow, has hosted many statewide events and along with the North Course, both are ranked in the top ten in the state of Illinois. The club has just completed a renovation of the South Cours. The club has just hired Andrew Green and is updating its North Course Master Plan.

Minimum of a two-year degree from an accredited turf school. The Engineering & Architecture Associates Program is a two-year rotational program at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey open to Engineering and Architecture students who are receiving a bachelor’s or master’s degree between September 2024 and May 2025. During their first year, Associates rotate through different Engineering/Architecture disciplines. Associates also rotate through different Port Authority facilities, like: George Washington Bridge; Holland Tunnel; JFK Airport; LaGuardia Airport; Lincoln Tunnel; Newark Airport; PATH; World Trade Center; and more. In their second year, Associates focus on the discipline they accepted an offer for. Summer Seasonal Farm Crew
Description:
This position is perfect for those want to play a very integral role in a farm business. Cloverleigh Farm is a small-scale diversified farm that operates a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in addition to sales to the local food co-op, area school districts and a few restaurants. Most of our members live in a 30 minute radius of the farm.
The farm crew will be involved in: seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing & packing. The work is very physical and is geared toward those to love to learn and work in an outdoor environment. Responsibilities include managing the same CSA pickup day each week all season. We have a planned series of public on-farm events to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, which staff can participate in as interested. We will be building out a new farm store this season and adding a high tunnel.
This is seasonal summer work May-August according often to an academic calendar.
The farm crew works Tues-Saturday averaging 40-45/wk. Work days begin at 7 am and end at 4 pm with a 30 minute unpaid break for lunch and short paid breaks mid morning and mid afternoon.

The Engineering & Architecture Associates Program is a two-year rotational program at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey open to Engineering and Architecture students who are receiving a bachelor’s or master’s degree between September 2023 and May 2024. During their first year, Associates rotate through different Engineering/Architecture disciplines in both construction and design.
